After a long day in the library I needed to stretch my legs, I noticed passing storm clouds over the La Sal's and knew I wanted to hike up to Poison Spider Mesa for sunset. I arrived an hour before sunset and spent the time admiring the dramatic clouds slowly work their way across the peak, inundating them in clouds, and in the next moment revealing the peaks still in deep winter. I can't help but to think of Edward Abbey when I look at Mt. Tukuhnikivats now, after reading of his journeys to this peak it makes me want to see the top, but I will save this for another day.
